Tutorial 2: Offset leap

4. Positioning markers

Shifting markers

Each marker in AV Adjust cannot only be later edited, but also shifted. The appropriate buttons you find as well within the parameter area of the marker:

Move buttons Moves the marker on each click by a frame backward or forward.

Adjusting the marker settings

Use for the final adjusting again the Live Edit function. Start a short preview (here are ± 2 seconds suitable), while the marker is selected. Adjust then during the running preview the correction value as well as the marker position, until picture and sound optimally match and the cut is at a favorable place.

However, there is still a problem: The cut has originated a gap in the sound. Although this gap does not lie at a hammer blow, it is nevertheless noticeable that the surrounding noises are absent for a moment. Absolute silence looks unnatural. Therefore, in the last step we will fill out the gap using a suitable piece of the original sound.
