Tutorial 3: Speed difference

3. Adjusting the playback speed of the sound

Solution strategy

Already in the first project you have used a Spline marker to align the sound with the picture at the first hammer blow. Do it here as well. You already know: Define at the 61st frame a Spline marker and correct the offset between the video and the audio track by means of its correction value.

A preview shows that the sound fits now - but only here. The following blows still come too early what becomes the more noticeable, the longer the videoclip runs. Therefore, go to the last hammer blow and correct there the picture/sound error by means of a second Spline marker.

Done. – This was already all?

Yes. Two Spline markers, more is really not necessary here. In the preview you will see that picture and sound now are in sync in the whole video. You have finished your work and can finally write out the result by means of the menu command Project | Start calculation....

Once again: Spline markers

You have seen that you can do with Spline markers much more than to shift only the whole sound track. In fact, by means of Spline markers the audio track can be "transformed" practically unlimited. Just therefore, they also hold the highest risk to produce remarkable faults. That's why it's important to get to know this mighty tool, and how it is to be controlled.
